JW:

"Kiss the son, lest he be angry, and ye perish in the way, For his wrath will soon be kindled. Blessed are all they that take refuge in him. Psalm 3 A Psalm of David, when he fled from Absalom his son." (ASV)

JW:

"Kiss the son" which is found in almost all Christian translations looks to be a Mistranslation here. The original Hebrew, which is undisputed, is as follows:

?? ?????????-???, ????-??????? ??????????

??? is the Hebrew word the Christians are translating as "son". However, ??? is the Aramaic word for "son" and not the Hebrew word. It's generally agreed that every other word in Psalms except for 1 or 2 disputed ones are Hebrew and not Aramaic.

Note that RSV, probably the best Christian translation available, does not mistranslate "son":

12: "kiss his feet, lest he be angry, and you perish in the way; for his wrath is quickly kindled. Blessed are all who take refuge in him."
