This story is also in Matthew's Gospel, in Matthew 15:1-9. Consequently, this means the context of both are the same. However, when we read Mark 7:1-13 and compare this with Matthew 15:1-9, we find a chronological contradiction as to what Jesus said 1st.

In Mark 7:

1st Jesus says:

Mark 7:6: "These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. They worship me in vain; their teachings are but rules taught by men."

Then:

Mark 7:10: "Honor your father and your mother,' and, 'Anyone who curses his father or mother must be put to death."

In Matthew 15:

1st Jesus says:

Matthew 15:4: "For God said, 'Honor your father and mother' and 'Anyone who curses his father or mother must be put to death."

Then:

Matthew 15:8: "These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. They worship me in vain; their teachings are but rules taught by men."

Did Jesus say: "These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. They worship me in vain; their teachings are but rules taught by men," before "Honor your father and your mother,' and, 'Anyone who curses his father or mother must be put to death," or the other way round?

Some anonymous author has modified what Jesus allegedly said, and as a result, created an irrefutable chronological contradiction. This is just 1 of many examples of misquoting Jesus.
