The Christians of "Matthew's" time generally referred to Jesus as "lord" (the Greek "kurios", coincidence that it sounds like "curious"?). The Jews of Jesus' supposed time who allegedly followed him would have referred to him as "teacher" or "master". In "Mark's" Gospel no one ever addresses Jesus as "lord" except for the shiksa in Mark 7:28. In almost all of Mark's stories that Matthew copies Matthew either substitutes the "teacher" of Mark with "lord" or deletes "teacher" when Jesus is addressed by anyone other than the hated Pharisees, Sadducees or Judas. This is just one of many pieces of solid evidence that the author of "Matthew" anachronistically projected information from HIS time back into Jesus' supposed time.

As that famous 20th century philosopher, ALF said, "Look it up": (NIV)

Mark 4:38 Mark 4 Mark 4:37-39 Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, "Teacher, don't you care if we drown?"

Mark 9:5 Mark 9 Mark 9:4-6 Peter said to Jesus, "Rabbi, it is good for us to be here. Let us put up three shelters--one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah."

Mark 9:17 Mark 9 Mark 9:16-18 A man in the crowd answered, "Teacher, I brought you my son, who is possessed by a spirit that has robbed him of speech.

Mark 9:38 Mark 9 Mark 9:37-39 "Teacher," said John, "we saw a man driving out demons in your name and we told him to stop, because he was not one of us."

Mark 10:17 Mark 10 Mark 10:16-18 As Jesus started on his way, a man ran up to him and fell on his knees before him. "Good teacher," he asked, "what must I do to inherit eternal life?"

Mark 10:20 Mark 10 Mark 10:19-21 "Teacher," he declared, "all these I have kept since I was a boy."

Mark 10:35 Mark 10 Mark 10:34-36 Then James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to him. "Teacher," they said, "we want you to do for us whatever we ask."

Mark 10:51 Mark 10 Mark 10:50-52 "What do you want me to do for you?" Jesus asked him. The blind man said, "Rabbi, I want to see."

Mark 11:21 Mark 11 Mark 11:20-22 Peter remembered and said to Jesus, "Rabbi, look! The fig tree you cursed has withered!"

Mark 12:13-15 They came to him and said, "Teacher, we know you are a man of integrity. You aren't swayed by men, because you pay no attention to who they are; but you teach the way of God in accordance with the truth. Is it right to pay taxes to Caesar or not? Mark 12:19 Mark 12 Mark 12:18-20 "Teacher," they said, "Moses wrote for us that if a man's brother dies and leaves a wife but no children, the man must marry the widow and have children for his brother.

Mark 12:32 Mark 12 Mark 12:31-33 "Well said, teacher," the man replied. "You are right in saying that God is one and there is no other but him.

Mark 13:1 Mark 13 Mark 13:1-2 As he was leaving the temple, one of his disciples said to him, "Look, Teacher! What massive stones! What magnificent buildings!"

Mark 14:45 Mark 14 Mark 14:44-46 Going at once to Jesus, Judas said, "Rabbi!" and kissed him.

According to the Talmud as the tax collector disciple in Mark was named "Levi" instead of the "Matthew" in Matthew's" version the Gospel now known as "Matthew" was originally titled as "Levi" but the early Christians thought "Levi" sounded "too Jewish" so they changed it to "Matthew".
